Mr. Mark A Stroup

Hello, I am Mark Stroup. I teach English 1 (Pre-AP) at Waller High School. I have been teaching at Waller High School since 2018, before coming to Waller, I taught at Waco I.S.D. and worked at Elgin I.S.D.

I was born in Waco, Texas, but moved around quite a bit as a child and teen. An interesting aspect of myself when I was a Freshman in High School, I lived in Vilseck, West Germany, and attended Vilseck American High School.

I live in Hockley with my wife Jennifer, whom I have been married to since 1997, son Ethan, daughter Emily, our cat Tazzy and our dog Teddy. I enjoy travel, time with my family, church, writing, all things Dean Martin, Hawaiian shirts, British comedies (they are the satirical kings and queens) and Bar-b-que (a true Texan knows this is a process and not a thing).

I look forward to working with your student this year; nothing is more rewarding for me than seeing a kid grow both academically and socially. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me, I am here to serve.

My favorite advice to everyone is, learn something new every day.

"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." -- Groucho Marx
