Hello,

 

I am excited to start the 2020-21 year with you all!  This year will definitely bring a lot of new challenges and opportunities for us, but if we stick together and push ourselves I know that we will have a fantastic year.  My philosophy of education is that a successful classroom is one where students feel comfortable and safe.  Students work best when they are confident that their thoughts and opinions matter and their voices are heard.  I believe in collaborative learning, where students share ideas and grow through interacting with each other and trying new things.  I am a lifelong learner and I feel that my students often teach me as much as I teach them.

 

I am entering my 6th year teaching and 5th year at Waller Junior High and I absolutely love my job and the Waller community.  I graduated from Texas State University with a BA in Business and worked in the financial industry for several years before finding my true passion as an educator.  I am certified to teach all subjects from 6th-8th grades, but Reading and Writing have always been my favorite subjects.

 

When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I am an avid reader and sports fan (Go Texans, Rockets, and Astros!) and the only thing I love more than being a teacher is being a husband and a father.
