Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Science, Texas A&M University Master of Education, Houston Baptist University

Welcome to 6th grade ELA-R. I am very excited to be a Waller Bulldog and a part of the ELA-R team at Waller Junior High!

I received my Bachelor of Science in education from Texas A&M University and I earned my Master of Education from Houston Baptist University. I taught for the first 29 years in Fort Bend ISD at both the elementary and middle school levels. I am grateful to be teaching much closer to home and I am looking forward to many more wonderful years with my Waller ISD students.

I am a native Texan. I live on a farm near Bellville with my husband, our dog Pepper, a smattering of cows, and an array of chickens. We have three sons in college and beyond. My family is my heart and I enjoy spending quality time with them. In my spare time, I love to read, read, and read! I also enjoy traveling around Texas, to other states, and to other countries. My favorite thing about traveling is meeting people and experiencing their cultures.

My goal is to help my students develop a love of reading and writing and to make both interests a lifelong pursuit. We gain knowledge through reading and we can express our thoughts and ideas through writing. They are skills that will benefit our students no matter their life's pursuit. This year we will become critical readers, analyzing the choices of good writers, and we will demonstrate what we learn by applying author's craft in our writing.

I look forward to a fantastic year!
