Waller Junior High Gifts Kindness
Waller Junior High (WJH) is encouraging its students to spread holiday spirit with a Gifts of Kindness challenge. Every day of the challenge, counselors randomly select an act of kindness for students to gift to others throughout the day. Examples of the gifts include holding a door open, complimenting others, talking with someone new, and sending a note of gratitude to a bus driver or custodian. The Gifts of Kindness challenge will continue until winter break.
The challenge was created by the Friends of Rachel (FOR) Club after Sponsor Tracy Moore saw the idea online and thought it would be a great idea to try on campus. The challenge’s purpose is to create a culture of kindness on campus and in the community through acts of positivity, happiness, and love.
The FOR Club is part of Rachel’s Challenge that Waller ISD introduced during the 2017-18 school year. Its mission is to promote safer, more connected schools that unite students and prevent bullying. The WJH FOR Club meets monthly throughout the school year.
