SJH Student Heads to Regional Spelling Bee

SJH Spelling Bee Congratulations to Schultz Junior High (SJH) students Kennedy McClendon and Lexi Parker who earned  SJH Spelling Bee Champion and Runner-up honors during this year’s Spelling Bee contest. The virtual contest required students to complete a 25-word fill-in-the-blank quiz. The student with the top score was declared the winner. The SJH Spelling Bee program is open to any student who wants to participate and is led by Librarian Vanessa Ragsdale. Once students enroll, Ragsdale gives them a Scripp’s National Spelling Bee study list to prepare them for competition. After months of preparation, McClendon competed against 19 other students to win the title of Spelling Champion. McClendon will go on to represent SJH at the Regional Spelling Bee held on Feb. 12.
