WISD Health Services Awarded Grant

Photo of Waller ISD Health Services Department receiving grant For the third year, the Waller ISD (WISD) Health Services Department is the recipient of a generous grant from the Tomball Health Coalition/Tri-County Health Alliance. Over the years the grant amount has tripled, with this year’s award totaling over $15,000. All eight WISD schools and their students will greatly benefit from the donation.

The grant will go towards the purchase of much needed clinic supplies and equipment from band-aids antibacterial ointment to vision screening equipment. The most notable buy will be the purchase of a photoscreener, which will allow the department to run vision screenings on children five years and under and nonverbal children.

“Every year they are more generous,” WISD Administrative Nurse Liaison Shelly Shultz said. “We appreciate all they do to support our district.”

In past years, the grant has been used to purchase such as otoscopes, audiometers, cots, nebulizers, and more.

The Tomball Health Coalition is a charitable organization created in January 2013 with the dedication to support healthcare organizations, and promote health and wellness in Magnolia, Tomball, Waller, and surrounding areas.
